About the Role

As an Analyst on Enova's Fraud Analytics team, you will be the quantitative engine of our fraud prevention effort. You will develop, enhance, and test models and pattern-recognition pipelines that surface emerging fraud trends across lending products. You will then work with the Fraud Operations team, who investigate flagged applications, to refine identifying characteristics and pivot the approach based on their findings.

The Enova Analytics department consists of 100 quantitative professionals dedicated to using cutting-edge techniques to drive business value, providing customers with access to fast, trustworthy credit while managing risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and monitor models and pattern-recognition algorithms to detect emerging and shifting fraud trends across one or more lending products.
  • Write customized programs in Python for meaningful data analysis and predictive modeling, and query large, complex datasets in SQL.
  • Partner closely with Fraud Operations through the full detection loop — pulling data, surfacing suspicious patterns, and incorporating investigation results to refine features and reduce false positives/negatives.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis on large, complex datasets to scope new or changing fraud trends and recommend risk, verification, and operational strategies.
  • Communicate findings clearly to cross-functional partners, provide requirements, and support implementation.
  • Help improve underwriting and verification processes from a fraud-risk perspective.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or similar) or equivalent experience.
  • Solid programming skills for data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases (SQL).
  • Foundational knowledge of statistical methods and machine learning.
  • Comfort using AI tools to improve workflow and delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving instincts and a naturally inquisitive, dig-deeper mindset.
  • Prior experience is not required; fraud, fintech, or lending exposure is a plus, interest in them is a must.

Compensation

Budgeted annual salary ranges:

  • Analytics Analyst I: $63,000 - $83,000
  • Analytics Analyst II: $75,000 - $95,000

Additional compensation may include a bonus.
