About the Role
Crystal Lake Elementary District 47 is seeking a Lunch/Playground Supervisor. The primary goal is to maintain a positive environment through safe and efficient supervision of school activities in the lunchroom and on the playground.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students and maintain order in the lunchroom, on the playground, and in hallways/corridors.
- Assist in guiding students in the development of desirable and acceptable social skills and habits.
- Assist in the general welfare and safety of students.
- Report accidents and hazardous conditions immediately.
- Resolve problems that may arise.
- Inform the teacher and/or principal of any serious problems.
- Uphold school rules and maintain consistent discipline.
- Encourage healthy attitudes and good bus/playground/lunchroom standards.
- Consistently encourage rule-following and game organization to establish habits of fair play for wholesome recreation.
- Periodically inspect the safety of playground equipment and report safety concerns.
- Respond immediately to safety complaints made by students.
- Send students to the nurse for matters requiring immediate medical attention.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Report to the building principal.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- GED or high school diploma preferred.
- Experience and desire to work with children.
- Friendly and shows patience with children.
- Positive leadership skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude while on the job.
- Ability to work efficiently with staff, students, and the community.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, neatness, integrity, and punctuality.
- Ability to respect confidential matters.
- Physical: Ability to lift 40 pounds to waist height occasionally.
- Physical: Good agility and mobility with physical stamina to move about hard and soft play areas.
- Physical: Ability to move quickly to students posing a risk to themselves or others.
Hourly Rate: $15 - part-time
