About the Role
Alignerr is seeking Masters- and PhD-level biology experts for a fully remote, flexible contract role. The role involves shaping AI models in genetics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics. No AI background is required, only deep domain knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, solve, and critically evaluate advanced biology problems with real-world scientific relevance.
- Apply expertise in genetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or related fields to design complex problem statements.
- Assess AI-generated scientific reasoning for accuracy, depth, and rigor.
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to strengthen model performance.
- Ensure deliverables meet the highest standards of scientific clarity and precision.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Biology or a closely related field (e.g., Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge in at least one of: genetics, biotechnology, or bioinformatics.
- Comfortable coding in Python or R for research or data analysis.
- Exceptionally clear written communicator, capable of making complex science accessible without sacrificing accuracy.
- Detail-oriented and self-directed, able to produce high-quality work independently.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data labeling, or AI evaluation workflows.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics pipelines or computational biology tools.
- Academic or industry research experience with published or applied outcomes.
- Background in designing or reviewing scientific assessments or curriculum.
