Legal Citation Specialist
Contract Position
Remote
10 - 40 hours/week
$50 - $80/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Review existing Bluebook grading rubrics to identify unclear rules.
- Identify edge cases that rubrics don't currently cover.
- Create sample cite-checking tasks with realistic errors.
- Build tasks across various citation types and difficulty levels.
- Apply Bluebook rules consistently across all submissions.
- Flag ambiguous cases to project coordinators for clarification.
- Deliver assigned work on schedule and meet quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Current or recent law student or graduate.
- Hands-on experience with Bluebook citation.
- Familiarity with law journal editing or cite-checking roles.
- Strong analytical skills to explain citation errors.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
- Experience with detailed review work for extended periods.
- Knowledge of citation types, formatting, and edits.
