Web Content Specialist

About the Role

Aptean is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Web Content Specialist to publish and maintain web content across its portfolio websites. This role will transform content from SEO and marketing teams into accurate, well-built, current, consistent, and search-ready pages.

Scope

Publishes and maintains content across Logility, Merlin Business Software, SSG Insight, and other English-language portfolio websites.

Organization

Reports to the Director of Web Optimisation within the Global Digital Marketing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Publish new content and updates in WordPress across portfolio sites, ensuring content is accurate, up to date, and live on time.
• Handle routine update requests from SEO, content, and regional marketing teams, including copy, images, links, and resources.
• Apply on-page SEO elements when publishing, including titles, meta descriptions, headings, alt text, and internal links, following guidance from the SEO Specialist.
• Keep existing pages current by fixing broken links, updating outdated information, and retiring old content.
• Perform quality assurance on pages before and after publishing, checking for accuracy, formatting, and responsiveness across devices.
• Ensure content adheres to Aptean brand guidelines and each site's templates and style.
• Ensure published content meets GDPR requirements and web accessibility standards, including WCAG.
• Track and prioritize publishing requests to ensure timely delivery and prevent missed items.
• Report technical issues, broken journeys, or content problems to the WordPress Developer, QA Engineer, or CRO Lead.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience publishing and managing content in WordPress.
• Experience with image editing, including resizing images, converting image file formats, and making minor adjustments before uploading, is beneficial.
• Ability to publish and format content accurately.
• Ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines.
• Ability to perform detailed quality assurance.
• Ability to maintain brand consistency.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across regions.
• Ability to identify and report issues.
• Ability to ask the right questions.
• Ability to develop skills in SEO, web publishing, and optimisation.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree.
