System Administrator I

About the Role

The BBN Business Infrastructure (BI) Organization within Raytheon BBN Technologies is seeking a full-time Systems Administrator to support the computing infrastructure needs of our Middletown, RI office. This position is Onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Server and workstation organization and maintenance
• Software maintenance
• Network support
• Inventory and government property tracking
• Architecture, implementation, and regular maintenance of secure labs adhering to NIST and RMF requirements

Requirements & Tech Stack

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• DoD Clearance: Top Secret
• Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
• DoD-approved 8570 baseline certifications within six (6) months of hire (e.g., Sec+, CCNA Security, SSCP)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
• Familiarity with common office and Information Technology (IT) applications
• Familiarity with network equipment and protocols
• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and/or NIST 800-53 standards

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field of study with experience in Systems Administration obtained by start date.
• Strong working knowledge with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of and experience with systems administration practices/procedures as applied to software management, and system configuration.
• Effective troubleshooting and technical problem solving.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Active security clearance
• Current DoD-approved 8570 baseline certifications (e.g., Sec+, CCNA Security, SSCP)
• Knowledge of and/or familiarity with NIST 800-53 standards and the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Working knowledge of networking essentials and Cisco Network Appliances, including routers, Layer 2 and 3 switches, and ASA Firewall/VPN devices
• Working knowledge of DISA STIG and SCAP tools a plus
