Digital Product Designer Intern

About the Role

This internship offers hands-on experience as a Digital Product Designer Intern at Hollow Star Solutions. You will help advance the team's digital design initiatives by contributing to design system enhancements, supporting product improvements across existing platforms, and participating in the development of new digital experiences. You will collaborate with designers, researchers, and developers to create user-centered solutions that can scale across multiple products and platforms, gaining exposure to enterprise-level design practices and tools. The internship takes place in Summer 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and enhance components within the company’s enterprise design system, helping create reusable elements for websites, applications, and digital products.
• Partner with product teams to improve existing experiences such as MyBiz, the company Plus, or commerce-related platforms by designing new features, refining workflows, and enhancing usability.
• Contribute to the design of new digital products or capabilities, such as event management experiences or other emerging solutions, by creating concepts, prototypes, and user experience recommendations.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Figma – used 100% of the time.
• Ability to build a component in a way that is reusable for all designers.
• Ability to present and communicate your work and your thought processes well.
• Curious mindset coupled with an openness to learning and feedback.
• Nice to have: Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Nice to have: Use of AI design tools (Claude Design or others).

Qualifications

• Human Computer Interaction Degree.
• Undergraduate students who will have completed their sophomore year and will be entering their junior year by the start of the internship, with an anticipated graduation date between May 2029 and April 2030.

Compensation

• $25.54 per hour.
