Business Development Representative
Recrew AI
About the Role
The company is a new-age recruiting firm built for how talent acquisition should work. It combines proprietary AI agents with a curated network of specialist recruiters. Clients include startups, mid-market companies, and Global Capability Centres.
As a Business Development Representative, you will be the first point of contact for working professionals in the company's outreach universe — opening career conversations, building trust, and capturing the context that helps recruiters place the right people in the right roles. This is a relationship-first role focused on quality engagement and accurate documentation, not aggressive pipeline pushing.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact professionals through recruiter-approved channels and outreach audiences, initiating conversations with cold or low-intent prospects.
- Introduce the company's value proposition to candidates, explain the BDR's role, and earn permission for a structured career conversation.
- Lead focused 10–15-minute career discussions to understand a professional's current situation, work background, and aspirations — without assessing or testing their capabilities.
- Capture openness and motivation: whether the person is actively exploring, selectively open, passively interested, or not looking — along with reasons and preferred timing.
- Document stated preferences around roles, responsibilities, company environments, compensation, location, work arrangements, and joining availability.
- Share approved opportunity briefs, capture candidate interest and questions, and route anything requiring recruitment or technical expertise to the appropriate team.
- Maintain agreed follow-ups, re-engage dormant prospects as priorities shift, and respect candidates' communication preferences and decisions not to engage.
- Record all candidate-provided information accurately in the CRM and share structured notes — without adding suitability ratings, screening outcomes, or shortlisting recommendations.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Prior experience engaging working professionals in conversations about career progression, upskilling, or career transitions.
- Demonstrated outbound prospecting ability — initiating conversations with cold or low-intent prospects and generating interest beyond inbound enquiries.
- Ability to establish rapport, ask clear questions, and understand a prospect's priorities without making the conversation feel like an interview or a sales pitch.
- Consultative engagement style — able to communicate value, respond to concerns, and sustain multi-touch conversations without pressure or aggressive selling.
- Disciplined CRM usage: accurate notes, organised prospect records, and consistent completion of agreed follow-ups.
- Comfortable working towards outreach volume, meaningful conversation, engagement quality, and information-completeness targets.
Nice to Have
- Experience selling courses, executive-education programs, or career-transition services to working professionals.
- Prior exposure to engaging technology professionals or other specialist professional groups.
- Familiarity with multichannel outreach — calls, email, LinkedIn, and approved messaging platforms.
- Experience re-engaging dormant prospects and maintaining relationships with people not immediately ready for a career move.
