About the Role
Cloud Software Engineer 1
Location: Fort Meade, MD
Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer 1 to support the development and deployment of enterprise cloud-based solutions within a mission-driven environment. The selected candidate will contribute to the design, development, integration, and maintenance of scalable cloud-native applications supporting large-scale compute and data analytics platforms. This role involves working within an Agile development team to implement secure and reliable software capabilities across cloud infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, integration, and maintenance of scalable cloud-native applications.
- Support large-scale compute and data analytics platforms.
- Implement secure and reliable software capabilities across cloud infrastructure environments.
- Work within an Agile development team.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
- Experience working within Linux-based operating systems
Qualifications
- Educational Path 1:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
- 0 years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or related technical field.
- Educational Path 2 (in lieu of a degree):
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or related technical field.
- Qualifying experience must include requirements analysis, software development, installation, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, or problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar technical disciplines will be considered.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible
Desired Certifications (One of the Following)
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
- AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
Salary & Benefits
Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000
