About the Role
We are hiring Robotics AI Interns for a fully remote position. We are building DEV 0.0, a humanoid robot developed entirely in simulation before any hardware exists. The robot reasons in language, perceives its surroundings, maps and navigates a space, and acts, always behind a safety layer. This is serious engineering where the code written is the product. We seek capable, self-directed individuals to own a slice of the system, building on open-source robotics foundations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own one system track, building on open-source foundations.
- Ensure code written actually runs.
Tracks (You Own One)
- Simulation & embodiment: Get the humanoid standing, then walking.
- Perception & sensing: Turn camera and depth into spatial awareness.
- Mapping & navigation: Build a map, move to a goal without collisions.
- Control & behaviour: Translate intent into motion.
- Safe control & grounding: The gate every action passes through.
- Voice & command: Language in, exactly one allowed action out.
- Embedded & hardware I/O: The firmware layer for real hardware later.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Ability to take an open-source robotics or AI component and get it running independently from the documentation.
- Write code that works and be able to demonstrate it (output, a short clip, a reproducible run).
- Honesty about accomplishments, limitations, and the limits of your results.
- Ability to work at a steady, consistent pace without constant supervision.
- Commitment to doing work properly; careless or copied work is considered worse than slow work.
- Experience with ROS2 is implied through the use of open-source robotics foundations.
