Web Development Intern

About the Role

SafarMarq is looking for a hands-on development intern to help build, maintain, and improve websites and mobile applications for multiple clients. You’ll work across React and Node.js websites, iOS and Android applications, and Shopify stores. Alongside development, you’ll support testing, publishing, content updates, and product catalogue management. You’ll also have opportunities to explore AI tools and learn how they can support development and everyday workflows.

What You'll Work On

• Website Development and Maintenance
• Build and update websites using React and Node.js.
• Make changes to existing website layouts, features, and functionality.
• Troubleshoot bugs and improve responsiveness, usability, and performance.
• Integrate APIs and support backend functionality.
• Publish and format blogs, including images, links, and basic SEO details.
• Mobile App Development and Support
• Help build and maintain applications for iOS and Android using React Native.
• Update existing applications, fix bugs, and support new features.
• Test applications across devices and operating systems.
• Assist with preparing builds, releases, and publishing updates to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Shopify Store Management
• Upload and update products, descriptions, prices, variants, and inventory details.
• Organise collections and maintain accurate product catalogues.
• Resize, compress, and optimise product images.
• Make changes to store pages, navigation, blogs, and theme sections.
• Check product pages and storefront functionality for errors.

Key Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining websites using React and Node.js.
• Supporting iOS and Android mobile application development and maintenance using React Native.
• Managing Shopify stores, including product uploads and updates.
• Testing applications and websites.
• Publishing content and application updates.
• Exploring AI tools for development support.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Working knowledge of JavaScript, React, Node.js, HTML, and CSS.
• Familiarity with React Native and building applications for iOS and Android.
• Basic understanding of APIs, backend development, and databases.
• Familiarity with Shopify administration, product uploads, and store updates.
• Understanding of Git and version control.
• Basic knowledge of QA testing, debugging, and image optimisation.
• Ability to work across multiple client projects, organise tasks, and communicate progress clearly.
• Attention to detail, ownership of assigned work, and willingness to learn.
• Availability for a three-month internship.
• Must be based in Pune.
• Willingness to attend occasional in-person meetings in Pune.

Additional Experience (Valued)

• Personal, academic, or freelance projects involving websites or mobile apps.
• Experience publishing apps to the App Store or Google Play Store.
• Familiarity with Xcode, Android Studio, or native development using Swift or Kotlin.
• Experience with Shopify themes or Liquid.
• Exposure to website deployment, app release workflows, or basic SEO.
• Interest in AI-assisted development, automation, and emerging tools.

Internship Details

• Duration: 3 months
• Stipend: ₹5,000 per month
• Work Mode: Remote
• Location Requirement: Candidates must be based in Pune.
