About the Role
The Manager Trainee is a full-time, entry-level position designed to prepare you for a leadership role within 84 Lumber. This role offers hands-on training across all aspects of store operations with the goal of promotion to a management position.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customers and drive sales in a retail store environment.
- Oversee material/supply chain flow, stock, and merchandising.
- Create material estimates for building projects.
- Safe handling of materials and equipment.
- Manage payroll, invoicing, inventory, and financial analysis.
- Work around machinery and airborne particles.
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Full-time schedule (48+ hours/week, overtime included)
- Microsoft Office Suite (previous experience preferred)
- Blueprint Reading
- Forklift Operation (certification provided)
- POS Systems
- Inventory Management
Qualifications
- No experience is required.
- Willingness to relocate for a management position.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings, in various weather conditions.
- Physical ability to perform frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 80 pounds).
