About the Role

AWS is seeking an early-career Brand Designer to shape the in-person experience of AWS. This role focuses on designing brand system assets, presentation materials, large-format signage, and environmental moments within a global events system. You will be a craftsperson with a love for visual and spatial design, understanding the strategy behind design decisions. You will learn from senior designers and contribute to high-scale, high-visibility work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bringing Events to Life
  • Design the visual expression of AWS events, translating campaign strategy and brand positioning into memorable experiences.
  • Design for scale and impact across presentations, activations, signage, and shared spaces.
  • Apply foundational design craft—typography, color, composition, hierarchy, scale—to large-format and spatial contexts.
  • Explore creative directions and articulate a clear point of view for design aesthetics.
  • Apply and extend the AWS brand system into experiential and environmental touchpoints, ensuring coherence and on-brand execution.
  • Brand System & Asset Production
  • Execute within and extend the AWS event brand system, maintaining templates, component libraries, and reusable assets.
  • Produce presentation decks, brand guideline documents, and digital assets with precision and consistency.
  • Manage asset production end-to-end, from initial layout through file prep, export, and handoff.
  • Identify and propose system-level fixes for inconsistencies to strengthen coherence.
  • Organize and maintain reference files, brand kits, and shared libraries.
  • Collaboration & Production
  • Partner with event producers, creative directors, marketing leads, copywriters, and fabrication vendors.
  • Prepare production-ready designs for print, large-format, fabrication, and live environments, considering material, scale, lighting, and installation realities.
  • Manage personal deliverables and timelines, raising blockers proactively.
  • Learn the end-to-end rhythm of global event production.
  • Growth & Team
  • Contribute to a shared library of experiential templates and reusable brand elements.
  • Participate in design critiques, giving and receiving feedback to grow craft and raise standards.
  • Bring energy, curiosity, fresh ideas, and a point of view on the future of experiential design.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Online portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills and advertising experience across various media and platforms, reflecting your design process.
  • Experience with Figma and the Adobe CS suite: XD, Photoshop, Illustrator.
  • Knowledge of design principles: Typography, Composition, Scale, and Color Theory.
  • Working knowledge of how design principles interact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in an industry role.
  • Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and grow craft in a fast-moving, high-visibility environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with asset management, design workflows, or partnering with creative teams.
  • Experience designing for events, activations, trade shows, or physical brand environments.
  • Familiarity with spatial or 3D visualization tools (SketchUp, Blender, or similar) to communicate experiential concepts.
  • Comfort with high-volume production, producing many assets quickly without sacrificing quality.
  • Experience working within a defined brand system and constraints.
  • Understanding of event production workflows (fabrication, print vendors, install timelines, on-site constraints).
