About the Role
Part-time elementary aftercare assistant at Salem Montessori School (SMS).
Your Role as an Aftercare Elementary Assistant
- Help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children to relax, connect, and continue learning.
- Support elementary students through outdoor play, creative projects, homework assistance, and community-building experiences.
- Foster independence, responsibility, and respect.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Serve as a positive role model for students, families, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide after-school care support.
- Perform basic needs care for children.
- Conduct chores apart from childcare.
Expectations
- Monday-Friday schedule.
- 15-20 hours per week.
- Hours available: 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm.
- Ability to be on your feet.
- Ability to lift and move.

- Possess excellent organizational and cleaning skills.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Ages 18 or older.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to be certified.
- Experience with children (preferred).
Additional Notes
- Employees offered employment will be required to pass a post-offer pre-employment background process, including a Basic TB test, fingerprint test, and completing an online training program.
