About the Opportunity

Guide Energy Solutions is seeking an Account Manager to expand customer relationships and commercial opportunities throughout the Permian Basin. This entry-level sales and business development role is designed for a recent college graduate who is commercially curious, comfortable meeting new people, and eager to build a career in energy sales. This is a hands-on, relationship-driven opportunity with a strong emphasis on being in front of customers. The Account Manager will develop relationships within existing Guide accounts, identify new contacts and areas of opportunity, and create introductions for Guide’s Business Development Executives. Success requires initiative, persistence, disciplined follow-up, and a willingness to knock on doors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with customer personnel throughout assigned accounts in the Permian Basin.
  • Expand Guide’s reach within current customers by identifying additional business units, operating groups, locations, decision-makers, and influencers.
  • Regularly visit customer offices, field locations, industry events, and other appropriate venues to establish and strengthen relationships.
  • Learn customer operations, priorities, and business needs to identify where Guide’s products, services, and technical capabilities may provide additional value.
  • Proactively introduce Guide to new contacts and prospective customers and create qualified openings for Business Development Executives.
  • Partner with Business Development Executives on priority customers, target accounts, account strategies, introductions, and opportunity handoffs.
  • Gather customer and market intelligence and communicate relevant information clearly to Guide’s sales, commercial, and technical teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer contacts, interactions, opportunities, and follow-up activities in Guide’s applicable sales systems.
  • Develop working knowledge of Guide’s products, services, customer applications, and the operational and commercial drivers affecting oil and gas customers.
  • Demonstrate consistent follow-through, professionalism, and persistence while developing selling, negotiation, relationship-management, and account-development skills.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or a related business, science, or engineering discipline.
  • Recent college graduate or candidate early in a professional career with a strong interest in sales, business development, and the energy industry.
  • Previous oil and gas experience is not required; relevant internships, coursework, student organizations, or related exposure are preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the confidence to introduce yourself, ask questions, and develop relationships with new people.
  • Demonstrated initiative, competitiveness, persistence, personal accountability, and willingness to pursue opportunities without significant direction.
  • Ability to learn technical products and applications and translate that knowledge into customer-focused conversations.
  • Strong organization, time-management, documentation, and follow-up skills.
  • Comfort working primarily in the market and spending significant time meeting customers throughout the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Permian Basin market as required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position and work at a computer or mobile device for portions of the workday.
  • Ability to move through customer offices and field locations, including standing and walking for extended periods when business activities require.
  • Ability to lift and carry ordinary business materials, samples, or presentation items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Work is performed in office, vehicle, customer, and occasional field environments throughout the Permian Basin market.
  • Field visits may involve outdoor weather, uneven walking surfaces, active industrial operations, elevated noise, dust, and other conditions typical of oil and gas locations; required customer or company PPE must be worn.
  • Ability to drive regularly within the assigned territory and adjust working hours for customer meetings, industry events, and business needs.

Benefits & Total Rewards

Guide offers competitive pay and a benefits package for eligible full-time employees that includes:
