Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit

About the Role

Aspirus is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) to join their newly expanded, state-of-the-art Cardiac Tower and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Wausau, WI. This role offers the opportunity to work with complex cardiothoracic and post-surgical patients, gain high-acuity clinical experience, and develop advanced skills in a modern cardiac care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to complex cardiothoracic and post-surgical patients.
• Monitor high-acuity patients and recognize changes in condition.
• Manage IV drips, chest tubes, central lines, and advanced telemetry.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Deliver patient-centered care focused on quality outcomes.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Current RN license in Wisconsin or compact-state eligibility.
• Interest in cardiac, high-acuity, or critical care nursing.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS preferred; training may be available if needed.

Qualifications

• New graduate and experienced RNs are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to gain high-acuity, ICU-level clinical exposure in a PCU setting.
