About the Role
YM Automation Private Limited is a startup focused on Industrial Automation and IoT solutions, founded in 2020. The company aims to enhance technology adoption and production efficiency across industrial sectors. Based in Coimbatore, YM Automation works with manufacturing and process industries to modernize operations through automation and connected systems. This is a full-time Junior Project Manager role in a hybrid work model, based in Coimbatore with some work-from-home flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end project coordination for industrial automation and IoT projects.
- Plan project timelines and track deliverables.
- Maintain project documentation.
- Coordinate with expeditors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Monitor material availability.
- Assist in logistics planning to meet project deadlines.
- Support inspection activities.
- Prepare status reports.
- Escalate risks or delays.
- Collaborate with senior project managers to ensure projects are executed on time, within scope, and in line with quality and safety standards.
- Perform Gantt chart preparation.
- Coordinate internally and with customers for project updates.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Foundational Project Management skills (planning, scheduling, risk tracking, project documentation).
- Expeditor and Expediting skills to follow up on orders, ensure timely delivery of materials, and coordinate with vendors.
- Inspection-related skills to support quality checks of materials, components, and project deliverables.
- Logistics Management skills to assist in organizing shipments, managing inventory flow, and coordinating with transport and warehouse teams.
- Ability to use project tracking tools (e.g., spreadsheets, project management software).
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field is beneficial.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Basic understanding of industrial automation or IoT concepts is an advantage.
- Engineering plus MBA is an added advantage.
