Technical Proposal Engineer, Primary

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Technical Proposal Engineer – Primary role, based in the Greater Chennai Area. The role involves preparing technical and commercial proposals for high voltage primary systems, including substations and grid connections, in line with client specifications, industry standards, and internal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals for high voltage primary systems.
• Collaborate with design, project, and commercial teams to gather inputs.
• Develop technical solutions.
• Perform cost estimations.
• Ensure proposals are accurate, competitive, and compliant.
• Review tender documents.
• Prepare single-line diagrams and equipment lists.
• Coordinate with vendors for quotations.
• Support bid clarifications and technical presentations to clients.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of proposal templates, tools, and processes.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong technical knowledge of high voltage primary equipment and systems, such as substations, GIS/AIS switchgear, transformers, and grid connections.
• Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals, including cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and tender documentation for engineering or EPC projects.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, and industry standards relevant to power systems.
• Effective communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with safety, quality, and environmental management principles aligned with ISO standards.
• Ability to work on-site in the Greater Chennai Area.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to international project requirements.

Qualifications

• Relevant academic background in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Prior experience in high voltage or utility projects is an advantage.
