About the Role
The Steel Detailing (Tekla) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. This role focuses on creating detailed structural steel models and drawings using Tekla, including shop drawings, erection drawings, and connection details in line with project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpreting engineering and architectural drawings.
- Coordinating with design and engineering teams.
- Performing clash checks.
- Preparing accurate material take-offs.
- Reviewing and revising detailing outputs based on stakeholder feedback.
- Maintaining documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant codes and client requirements.
- Collaborating with project managers, fabricators, and quality teams to meet deadlines and support seamless fabrication and erection processes.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures for steel detailing, including modeling, drawing creation, and connection detailing.
- Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Working knowledge of steel sections, fabrication practices, and erection methodologies.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM workflows, including coordination, clash detection, and model-based quantity extraction.
- Understanding of relevant design codes and standards commonly used in structural steel projects.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, fabricators, and project managers in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to resolve detailing issues and design conflicts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain high-quality documentation and drawing standards.
- Comfort with standard office and engineering software tools.
- Willingness to learn new platforms and workflows as required.
Qualifications
- Relevant diploma or degree in civil/structural engineering or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in steel detailing or fabrication environments is highly beneficial.
