About the Role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware, ranging from servers, storage and networking devices on a 24/7 basis.
- Maintain a high level of system reliability and availability.
- Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based server infrastructures with a focus on reliability and scalability.
- Perform comprehensive system monitoring, diagnostics, and performance optimization.
- Configure and manage network hardware, including switches, routers, and complex cabling systems.
- Develop and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless technological integration.
- Participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies with opportunities to share experiences and knowledge.
- Share knowledge and help train less technical staff on best practices.
- Contribute towards building a great team by getting involved in the Amazon hiring process/candidate interviews.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
