IBM fosters continuous learning, career growth, and a supportive culture to build expertise and shape the infrastructure driving progress.
As a Hardware Developer for Cognitive Systems and IBM Z, you will be responsible for developing test architectures, drivers, and checkers to test and verify designs used in these systems. This role involves using logic simulation or formal verification techniques to validate that hardware designs function according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Test Architectures: Design and develop test architectures, drivers, and checkers using the latest technology to test and verify designs used in Cognitive Systems and IBM Z.
- Perform Validation Tests: Conduct validation tests or build the tools required to perform verification tests, ensuring the hardware design under verification functions according to specifications.
- Integrate Products: Integrate products from industry-leading suppliers of I/O and networking, requiring networking and Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) business debug skills.
- Apply Verification Principles: Apply Random/Deterministic Verification Principles and utilize knowledge of Engineering Principles to ensure thorough verification of designs.
- Collaborate with Partners: Work with industry partners and/or customers to integrate and verify products, including Ethernet, Fiber Channel, or Infiniband networking products.
Qualifications
- Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Technical and Professional Expertise
- Functional Verification Expertise: Experience with developing test architectures, drivers, and checkers for pre-silicon testing, using logic simulation or formal verification techniques to validate hardware designs.
- I/O and Networking Integration: Experience in integrating products from industry-leading suppliers of I/O and networking, including Ethernet, Fiber Channel, or Infiniband networking products, requiring networking and Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) business debug skills.
- Verification Principles Application: Experience applying Random/Deterministic Verification Principles and utilizing knowledge of Engineering Principles to ensure thorough verification of designs.
- Industry Collaboration: Experience working with industry partners and/or customers to integrate and verify products, including those working with IBM P&Z Systems Servers.
- Early Bring-up and Test: Experience with early bring-up and functional integration test of Input/Output (I/O) networking adapters, network switches, or devices.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Networking Debug Skills: Experience with networking and Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) business debug skills is beneficial for integrating products from industry-leading suppliers of I/O and networking.
- Industry Partner Collaboration: Experience working with industry partners and/or customers to integrate and verify products, including those working with IBM P&Z Systems Servers, is advantageous.
