Junior AI Intern

About the Role

Secondz is looking for a Junior AI Intern interested in working with Python, OpenAI APIs, document extraction, computer vision, and OCR. This opportunity is for individuals who enjoy building AI-powered applications and experimenting with extracting information from PDFs, Excel files, and images.

• Position: Junior AI Intern
• Stipend: ₹3,000 per month
• Duration: 3 months
• Work Mode: Fully Remote
• Working Days: Monday to Saturday
• Working Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Openings: Multiple

Key Responsibilities

• Integrating OpenAI APIs into Python applications using API keys.
• Building PDF and Excel data extraction workflows.
• Using vision-capable AI models to process images, tables, and document screenshots.
• Implementing OCR to extract text from scanned documents and images.
• Converting extracted information into structured JSON outputs.
• Validating AI-generated results and handling missing or inconsistent data.
• Testing extraction accuracy across different document formats and layouts.
• Debugging and improving AI-powered workflows.
• Integrating AI features with backend applications.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python.
• Familiarity with OpenAI APIs and API-key-based integration.
• Understanding of JSON and structured data.
• Basic knowledge of PDF and Excel processing.
• Familiarity with libraries such as Pandas and OpenPyXL.
• Understanding of OCR and text extraction from images.
• Interest in computer vision and vision-capable AI models.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and error handling.
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
• Willingness to learn, debug, test, and improve AI solutions.

Good to Have

• Experience with OpenAI vision models or other multimodal LLMs.
• Familiarity with Tesseract, EasyOCR, or PaddleOCR.
• Experience with PyMuPDF or pdfplumber.
• Basic knowledge of FastAPI and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with prompt engineering and structured outputs.
• Personal projects involving AI, OCR, document processing, or computer vision.
