About the Role

The Accounting Leadership Development Program (ALDP) is designed to cultivate the next generation of accounting leaders at Walmart. During the 2-year program, participants will engage in 8-month rotations across three distinct areas, contributing to high-visibility, strategically relevant projects that drive business forward and create value for customers. Participants will gain broad accounting experience in a dynamic team environment, supporting areas such as Strategy, Operations, Merchandising, Treasury, Global Controller’s Office, Audit, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Real Estate within Walmart US, Sam’s Club, International, or Corporate segments.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethics, and integrity standards in all financial operations.
• Participate in the Walmart Annual Shareholders’ Meeting and other events with associates from around the world, experiencing company culture.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in public accounting, audit, or related accounting roles.
• Ability to grasp concepts quickly and make a presence felt.
• Intellectual curiosity.
• Forward and persuasive style to solve complex business problems with ambiguity.
• Performance evaluated across five metrics: Critical Thinking, Analytical Ability, Interaction/Communication, Leadership, and Potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and 2 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related area, OR 4 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or related area.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications (optional): Building, developing, and implementing quality programs/systems, Information Systems, Supervising Associates, Working on cross-functional teams or projects, Masters: Business Administration, Financial & Insurance - Certified Public Accountant - Certification.
