About the Role
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant in Raymond, OH. This foundational accounting role involves analyzing unit manufacturing costs, calculating sales price impacts for current vehicle models, executing monthly closings, and supporting corporate budgeting cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate cost per unit metrics for current production models and evaluate impacts on wholesale selling prices.
- Execute month-end financial close activities related to sales, raw material usage, and inventory reconciliations.
- Prepare sales and materials variance analyses for 6 annual corporate budget events.
- Generate component and unit pricing quotations under accounting management supervision.
- Analyze manufacturing material usage and sales price variances in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Foundational knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, cost accounting standards, and general ledger accounts.
- Strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and Microsoft Excel modeling skills.
- Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems (SAP).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or Associate with 2+ years accounting experience).
- 0-2 years of cost accounting or corporate finance experience (manufacturing setting preferred).
