Backend engineer at Pi One Technologies (π 1).
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop REST and/or GraphQL APIs and microservices that follow industry best practices, using Python (FastAPI / Flask) and Node.js (Express.js).
- Build video-metadata processing and event-driven systems.
- Design and optimize database schemas across relational and NoSQL stores (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, TimescaleDB, Redis) for efficient retrieval and storage.
- Implement message-broker-based pipelines using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Implement authentication and security (JWT, OAuth) and apply API security best practices.
- Optimize API performance for low latency and high throughput; identify and resolve bottlenecks; implement caching.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines; containerize with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes.
- Integrate backend services with AI/ML components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
