Telecom Operations Engineer, Connect, Connect

About the Role

Amazon Connect Customer is an AI-powered customer experience solution that enables superior outcomes at a lower cost. The Amazon Connect Customer Telecom Engineering team is responsible for provisioning and maintaining connectivity to global telecom carriers, managing backend telecom infrastructure, and troubleshooting customer issues related to telephony. The Session Border Controller (SBC) service, used to route calls between Amazon Connect Customer and telecom carriers, is owned by this team. We are seeking Systems Engineers who are experts in SIP/VoIP to join our Hyderabad team to support and expand Amazon Connect Customer's telecom infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and expand Amazon Connect Customer's telecom infrastructure.
• Innovate telecom network operations through tooling and processes to improve customer productivity.
• Provision and maintain connectivity to global telecom carriers.
• Manage backend telecom infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot customer issues related to telephony.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Linux systems administration and/or development experience.
• Experience with at least two of these languages: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby or Bash/Shell.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience working in a 24/7 production environment.
• Expertise in SIP/VoIP.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Linux systems administration and/or development experience.
• 1+ years of work in at least two of these languages: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby or Bash/Shell experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical degree or related experience.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience working in a 24/7 production environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration experience.
• 1+ years of building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments experience.
• Knowledge of configuration management systems, such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or related systems.
• Experience in network capture and systems troubleshooting.
