Software Development Intern (Python)

About the Role

• This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mangaluru.
• The intern will assist in designing, implementing, and testing backend features for HireEdge’s assessment and simulation platforms.
• Opportunity to learn best practices in software engineering and contribute to systems impacting colleges, students, and hiring partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Write clean and maintainable code using Python.
• Fix bugs in the assessment and simulation platforms.
• Contribute to APIs and data processing components.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on new product features.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Document technical work.
• Work closely with product and operations teams to refine requirements.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Programming in Python.
• Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Understanding of Software Development life cycle.
• Basic exposure to Back-End Web Development (e.g., working with APIs, databases, or web frameworks) is preferred.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) is an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and basic software engineering principles.
• Ability to contribute to design, implementation, and testing of features.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Ability to learn quickly and follow coding standards.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail in debugging and documentation.
• An interest in education, assessments, or hiring technology is an added advantage.
