About the Role
MS Transverse, a subsidiary of MSIG USA and part of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, is dedicated to the global program market.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of Bronze, Silver, and Gold layer pipelines in Azure Databricks using PySpark and SQL.
- Contribute to Kimball-style dimensional models (fact and dimension tables) for internal MST teams (actuarial, underwriting, claims, reinsurance).
- Build data quality checks and validation logic for Lakehouse data.
- Contribute to internal automation tooling and Claude skills for data engineering workflows with a human-in-the-loop approach.
- Document technical work for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Utilize Git and GitHub for version control, code review, and collaborative development under the SCRUM framework.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark.
- Familiarity with the Databricks platform.
- Familiarity with Kimball-style dimensional modeling.
- Hands-on familiarity with Claude Code and the broader Claude ecosystem.
- Familiarity with Git and version-controlled development workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science or a related field.
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science or a closely related field.
- Databricks certification: Data Engineer Associate or higher.
- Research experience, preferably with publications.
Nice to Have
- Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900).
- Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900).
- Experience with a BI tool.
- Exposure to the insurance industry.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, specifically SCRUM.
