About the Role
The Associate Scientist role at Newly Weds Foods focuses on developing proficiency in all aspects of NWF product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, duplicate, and cost-reduce seasonings and/or coatings to meet customer needs.
- Complete all aspects of NWF training.
- Follow R&D standards and maintain NWF procedures.
- Develop proficiency in developing and duplicating products.
- Begin independent account responsibility.
- Develop a positive working relationship with internal and external customers.
- Develop knowledge in ingredient functionality.
- Build and maintain a working relationship with vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate project and product records.
- Pass internal audits.
- Display team focus and collaboration.
- Perform other duties or special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Culinary Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- General knowledge in MS Office, AS400, and Lotus Notes.
Work Environment: General office setting with periodic exposure to:
- Loud environment
- Airborne particles with stronger odors (spicy food ingredients)
- Cold, hot, wet, and humid conditions
- Walking and standing on concrete
- Climbing steps and ladders
- Standing on elevated surfaces
