About the Role

We are looking for an Associate Software Engineer who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative team environment. This individual should have a foundational understanding of the software development lifecycle and a strong interest in building efficient, reliable code. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will help design, build, and maintain applications with a focus on modern web technologies, cloud-native architecture, and the practical use of AI tools to enhance engineering productivity. In this role, you'll contribute to full-stack application development using TypeScript and NestJS (Node), along with cloud services (AWS) and API development. You'll also work on an established .NET and SQL Server platform that serves enterprise clients. As part of an agile team, you'll take part in design discussions, code reviews, and technical demonstrations, with mentorship and opportunities to expand your skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain features for cloud-based applications and APIs using TypeScript and NestJS (Node), with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Help maintain and enhance a mature ASP.NET (C#) application, including SQL Server queries and stored procedures.
  • Use AI tools to improve development efficiency, assist with testing, and support documentation.
  • Build and update web interfaces using TypeScript and frameworks like React or Next.
  • Consume and build RESTful APIs that work with SQL and NoSQL data stores.
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve issues, escalating complex problems when needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience (e.g., bootcamp, internships, or a strong project portfolio).
  • Foundational knowledge of web technologies, APIs, and full-stack development.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript and at least one backend framework (e.g., Node, NestJS, or .NET).
  • Exposure to C# and SQL (queries, joins, basic stored procedures).
  • Working knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
  • Understanding of testing fundamentals (e.g., unit testing).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies, including working in an existing codebase.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using AI-assisted tools in development workflows.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS), containers (Docker), or CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with Go or with identity/auth providers such as Okta.
  • Internship, co-op, or project experience with ASP.NET or other .NET applications.
