Traffic / ITS / Safety Intern

AECOM is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Traffic / ITS / Safety Intern to join our Atlanta, GA office for early career opportunities. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in various aspects of Traffic Safety, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Traffic Operations projects.
• Gather and evaluate data related to vehicular and pedestrian incidents to identify trends and insights.
• Learn and apply standard practices, techniques, and procedures under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Explore innovative solutions and design alternatives through research and analysis, including white paper development.
• Provide analytical support to enhance design concepts and project solutions.
• Engage in effective communication and collaboration with the project design team and other relevant parties.
• Contribute to the creation of project deliverables, including specifications, drawings, and visual graphics.
• Follow detailed technical instructions and methodologies to ensure design accuracy.
• Participate in the development of conceptual designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and working drawings.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Currently in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other related field.
• Must have completed one year of study.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and basic data science concepts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and willingness to learn advanced techniques.
