React Native Intern

About the Role

PGAGI Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Software Development Engineer (SDE) Interns – Mobile Application Development. This role involves building and maintaining cross-platform mobile applications using React Native. You will collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend developers to deliver seamless user experiences and gain hands-on experience in real-world product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend developers to deliver seamless mobile experiences.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and handle JSON parsing, asynchronous operations, and real-time data.
• Participate in code reviews and follow mobile development best practices.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues, optimize application performance, and write unit tests.
• Implement state management using Redux, Context API, or similar solutions.
• Use Git for version control and task-tracking tools to manage development workflows.
• Participate in Agile development processes and collaborate with the engineering team.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript, with a strong interest in React Native development.
• Understanding of React Native components, hooks, and state management using Redux or Context API.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and functional programming principles.
• Basic knowledge of data structures, including arrays, stacks, queues, and hash tables.
• Understanding of fundamental algorithms, such as sorting and searching.
• Awareness of time complexity and code efficiency.
• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, including variables, loops, and conditionals.
• Familiarity with building and deploying cross-platform mobile applications.
• Understanding of responsive design principles, Material Design, and iOS Human Interface Guidelines.
• Familiarity with asynchronous programming, including Promises and async/await.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and handling HTTP/HTTPS requests, methods, and status codes.
• Basic understanding of API security, authentication, and SSL/TLS concepts.
• Familiarity with development tools such as VS Code, Android Studio, or Xcode.
• Basic awareness of unit testing frameworks and debugging tools.
• Understanding of build tools such as Gradle and Metro Bundler.
• Hands-on experience with Postman or similar tools for API testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a B.E./B.Tech, B.Sc., M.E./M.Tech, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• A portfolio of mobile application projects, with GitHub repositories or Play Store links preferred.
• Familiarity with Firebase or other backend services is an advantage.
• A willingness to learn, experiment with new technologies, and contribute to a collaborative team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in building high-quality mobile applications.

Eligibility Criteria

• Final-year undergraduate or postgraduate students, or graduates in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Ability to work on-site in Bangalore for the full six-month internship period.
• Availability to participate in team meetings, collaborate with developers, and contribute to ongoing projects.
