About the Role
The Resident Assistant at Ebenezer's Sanctuary of St. Cloud (an affordable, friendly senior living community) provides personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain residents' physical and emotional well-being. This is a casual/on-call position with day, evening, and overnight shifts available.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists residents with personal cares including:
- Bathing/showering
- Foot and fingernail care
- Shaving
- Dressing
- Assistance with hearing aids and/or glasses
- Hair care
- Feeding
- Toileting
- Escorts
- 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
- Provides health-related services as directed by the Registered Nurse:
- Assists with treatments per individualized care plan
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Administers medication or assists with this (includes insulin injections)
- Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration
- Performs specified home services:
- Performs laundry service per schedule
- Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked
- Delivers meal trays
- Assists with meal service in the dining room
- Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities.
- Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
- Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions.
- Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment.
- Offers pertinent observations and input.
- Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Ability to use technology in the form of computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
- If under 18, must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.
Qualifications
- Less than 1 year of experience.
- 1-3 years experience (Preferred Qualification).
