Description
Performs phlebotomy in accordance with established National Patient Safety Goals and Baptist Health published protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Receives specimens into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) accurately and timely, labels, transports, centrifuges, and aliquots specimens.
- Distributes specimens to testing sections in accordance with collection priority, i.e., STAT over Routine.
- Faxes and distributes results as appropriate.
- Responsible for maintaining knowledge and deployment of policies and procedures used within the department as well as throughout the hospital to address patient questions and concerns.

Qualifications
- Degrees: High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper.
- Preferred: Phlebotomy or Registered Medical Assistant certificate.
- Preferred: Experience in a hospital setting including pediatric, geriatric, oncology, and neonate patients.
- Excellent interpersonal communication both verbal and written.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.
- Minimum Required Experience: Less than 1 year.
