Platform Engineer Intern

About the Role

Veryable is seeking a Software Engineering intern to assist the Platform Engineering team in advancing the platform. This is an unpaid internship offering real-world experience in a startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to best practices in backend web development using current technologies.
• Work in a fast-paced, team environment solving real-world problems for manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, and industrial business environments.
• Work with a world-class team and gain exposure to Cloud Infrastructure Scaling, DevOps, DevSecOps, and DevEx.
• Contribute to the evolution of Veryable’s data infrastructure and data warehouse architecture.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Knowledge of Javascript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in backend frameworks such as Spring, Django, or Express.js.
• Detail-oriented with a proven ability to take on complex problems, break them down, and drive optimal solutions.
• Eager to learn, self-starter with a desire for professional growth and a winning attitude.
• Able to work in-office at the headquarters in Downtown Dallas.

Qualifications

• Recently graduated or currently enrolled in an accredited, degree-seeking program majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related degree, with one quarter or semester remaining.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and monitoring on AWS, GCP, or Azure platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or Circle CI.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with database management services such as Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, and RedShift.
• Understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
