Python Automation Engineer & Moodle Integration

About the Role

• Role Title: Python Automation Engineer & Moodle Integration
• Employment Type: Full-time (open to a 6-month contract-to-hire)
• Location: Noida (Sector 37-Noida) UP
• Reports to: Technology / Product lead (to be confirmed)
• Works with: Academic content team - Moodle/LMS Developer & administrators.

Key Responsibilities

• Pipeline operation and ownership
• Word document parsing and standardisation
• Validation and quality checking
• Conversion: Pandoc, Lua and Moodle XML
• Equations and media
• Debugging and root-cause analysis
• Engineering hygiene and documentation
• Roadmap development (as prioritised)

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Python development (0.5 – 5 years professional experience)
• At least one document-conversion, ETL or data-transformation project
• Comfortable working on Windows (current environment)
• Linux familiarity is a plus

Preferred Skills and Behavioral Competencies

• XML and data validation libraries: lxml, xmlschema, pydantic, jsonschema
• Testing: pytest, Hypothesis, coverage.py
• CI: GitHub Actions or similar
• Maths content: LaTeX, MathML, OMML (Word equations), MathJax rendering in Moodle; sympy or latex2mathml exposure
• DOCX tooling: mammoth, docx2python
• Image tools: Pillow and python-magic
• Web and deployment: FastAPI or Flask, basic React/HTML/JS, Docker, SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
• Moodle Web Services / REST APIs and LMS administration
• Prior work in EdTech, assessment platforms or publishing workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• A portfolio, GitHub link or work sample showing document or data processing is strongly preferred.
