About the Role
STAQX is looking for passionate and motivated Commis Chefs to join our culinary team across Hot Kitchen and Bakery & Pastry operations. Candidates with an interest or experience in either section are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in daily kitchen operations, food preparation and mise en place as per established standards.
- Hot Kitchen: Assist in preparing Continental, Western, and American-style dishes while maintaining consistency, taste and presentation.
- Bakery & Pastry: Assist in preparing cakes, cookies, desserts, pastries and other bakery products as per recipes and quality standards.
- Follow standard recipes, portion control, food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation practices.
- Ensure proper storage, labelling and rotation of ingredients to maintain freshness and reduce wastage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, equipment and kitchen areas.
- Coordinate with senior chefs and team members to ensure timely preparation and smooth kitchen operations.
- Follow instructions, maintain discipline and contribute to an efficient kitchen environment.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Basic knowledge or a strong interest in either Hot Kitchen or Bakery & Pastry.
- Candidates with experience in Continental, Western, or American cuisine, or bakery and pastry production, will be preferred.
- Willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a passion for food.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and safe handling practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment and coordinate effectively with the team.
Qualifications
- Freshers, culinary students and candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply.
