About the Role
Bench Operator (Blender) at StandardAero, located in Maryville, TN. This is an entry-level position; no prior Bench Operator experience is needed, and qualified candidates will receive training.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct airfoil blending on Turbine Engine Blades using a belt sander and pedestal grinders, adhering to the correct profile and contour per Engine Manuals.
- Ensure maintenance operations are performed in the appropriate sequence.
- Ensure all test equipment or tools used for airworthiness determinations are labeled correctly before use.
- Complete appropriate paperwork and all maintenance or alteration processes according to established standard work processes.
- Support cell personnel with maintenance or alterations performed and their appropriate documentation.
- Confirm quality of work through routine in-process checks.
- Track and communicate the status of assigned work orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Cover for absent team members to maintain workflow.
- Perform assigned start-up and shut-down activities of the production facility.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Minimum one year experience reading/interpreting manuals, technical drawings, and/or blueprints.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs without assistance.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during the blending process.
- Set up and operate a variety of hand tools including hammers, files, dremel's, drills, presses, pedestal grinders, belt grinders, low temperature ovens, and hand grinders.
- Perform operations such as blending, blasting & stripping, chasing threads, deburring, angle checking, coldworking metals, and masking.
Qualifications
- Thorough familiarity with the use of all tooling, equipment, technical data, and inspection aids for overhauling Blades.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
