About the Role
HDR is seeking an Entry Level Construction Inspector to join their North Carolina Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team. This role involves performing construction engineering and inspection duties on highway and bridge construction projects, utilizing NCDOT policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform construction engineering and inspection duties.
- Conduct materials testing.
- Perform construction observation.
- Prepare reports.
- Be trained to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Identify discrepancies or conflicts within construction documents.
- Enforce contract documents.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections
- Licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with applicable state law
- Experience with NCDOT
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
- Must pass drug-screening procedures prior to hire; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tech school degree
