Systems Engineer

About the Role

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) team in Littleton, CO or Titusville, FL. This role supports the Navy’s mission by delivering new technologies and maintaining strategic deterrence requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of system-level qualification requirements and their application to subsystems.
• Facilitate communication and coordination between qualification stakeholders, including subsystem integrators and test teams.
• Support the development of qualification plans, procedures, and strategies that meet program needs.
• Identify and help resolve qualification-related issues and risks across the system and subsystems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure qualification activities are properly planned, executed, and documented.
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Ability to communicate technical information to a variety of stakeholders.
• Familiarity with package hardware qualification.
• Competency in reviewing design documentation.
• Secret Clearance required prior to Start; US Citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of Systems Engineering processes and one or more Systems Integration functions including:
• System trade studies and/or System modeling
• Requirements and Interface Control Document (ICD) development
• System Integration, Test and/or Verification
• Test planning and execution
• Design review
• Working knowledge of the Trident II D5LE Missile.
• Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change.
• Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data.
