Digital Electrical Design Engineer I
Raytheon
About the Role
The Effector Digital Products (EDP) Department develops electronics for weapon system products, responsible for the architecture, design, and documentation of deliverable FPGA embedded processing. The Digital Design Engineer designs digital electronic circuit cards and electronic units, supported from proposal through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Hardware Design: Writing, simulating, synthesizing, and verifying digital hardware design using VHDL or Verilog. Implementing design solutions for FPGAs or ASICs, which may include high-speed communication interfaces, signal processing, or control logic.
- System Integration: Supporting the integration of digital designs with other subsystems, including analog electronics, software, and mechanical components.
- Testing and Validation: Conducting testing and debugging of digital hardware in a laboratory setting using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and test benches. Performing timing analysis, signal integrity analysis, and power analysis.
- Collaboration: Working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
- Documentation and Process Adherence: Producing technical documentation, including design specifications, validation reports, and test procedures. Following Raytheon's engineering standards and design processes.
- Growth and Skill Development: Gaining experience with industry-leading tools and methodologies for digital design, simulation, and verification, such as Xilinx Vivado, Synopsys, ModelSim, or MATLAB.
