Alienkind
About the Role
The Video Editor will help shape Alienkind’s visual language and storytelling across social, campaigns, events, creator collaborations, and brand initiatives. You’ll work closely with the creative and marketing teams, turning ideas and raw footage into engaging video content. We’re looking for someone creative, curious, and detail-oriented who wants to understand not just how to edit, but why a video works.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit short- and long-form video content for social media, campaigns, events, and brand initiatives.
- Work with briefs, raw footage, and creative references to build engaging edits.
- Focus on pacing, storytelling, transitions, music, sound, and visual flow.
- Create platform-specific content with an understanding of social-first formats.
- Experiment with hooks, editing styles, formats, trends, sounds, and visual treatments.
- Work with footage from shoots, events, creator collaborations, and activations.
- Collaborate closely with the creative and marketing teams and incorporate feedback.
- Maintain visual consistency across Alienkind’s content.
- Create different versions, aspect ratios, and cutdowns when required.
- Organize project files, footage, assets, and final exports properly.
- Stay updated on social trends, creator formats, editing styles, music, and digital culture.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve.
- Knowledge of After Effects or other motion tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of pacing, composition, music, storytelling, and visual flow.
- Interest in social media, pop culture, music, events, creators, and digital content.
- Curiosity to experiment with different hooks, formats, transitions, and editing styles.
- Ability to take a rough idea and turn it into a compelling video.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn through feedback.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience; freshers with strong portfolio, project, or personal work are welcome.
- Portfolio, showreel, or relevant project work is a plus.
Working with the Creative Team
- Work closely with the creative and marketing teams from brief to final edit.
- Contribute ideas, references, and editing approaches during the creative process.
- Learn how creative decisions around pacing, music, storytelling, and visuals shape audience response.
- Collaborate with other creatives to turn rough ideas and footage into strong content.
What Matters Here
- We’re not looking for someone who only cuts clips together.
- We want someone who notices why certain videos make people stop scrolling.
- Someone who pays attention to transitions, music, camera angles, pacing, and storytelling.
