About the Role
Our client is seeking a Service Engineer Apprentice/Trainee in Houston, TX. This role is part of the service organization supporting customer machine installations, repairs, and moves.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete classroom, factory training, and online courses, passing with 80% or higher scores.
- Shadow Service Engineers on service calls by traveling to customer sites and observing troubleshooting and repair workflows.
- Assist during service calls through observation and supporting the Service Engineer as directed.
- Participate in a competency-based apprentice program, enrolled for 2 years before certification and promotion to Service Engineer.
- Maintain discipline with required technical documents and reports, completing them accurately and on time.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High school diploma or GED.
- Demonstrated mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, or electronic aptitude.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to support troubleshooting in stressful, time-sensitive situations.
- Professional communication skills to build positive customer relationships and coordinate with internal technical staff.
- Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally for training and customer needs, including holding a current passport.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a competency-based apprentice program for 2 years before certification.
- Ability to achieve 80% or higher scores in training courses.
