Software Engineer, Internship, Defense Tech
Palantir Technologies
The Role
Software Engineers at Palantir build software at scale to transform how organizations around the world use data. As a Defense Tech Software Engineer Intern, you’ll contribute high-quality code directly to Palantir's Gotham product. Palantir's defense product vertical builds mission-critical products for the modern warfighter, enabling them to securely integrate and visualize their data, perform rich analyses, and build sophisticated, full-fledged programs such as common operating pictures, alert-triaging inboxes, and resource allocation planning tools driven by rich-ML models. These programs are relied upon for daily operations in command centers and battlefronts of militaries across the world.
Core Responsibilities
As a Defense Tech Intern, you will be supporting work specifically focusing on delivering Palantir Defense capabilities to our most critical mission partners. You’ll be involved throughout the product lifecycle:
- Idea generation
- Design
- Prototyping
- Execution
- Shipping
You’ll be paired with a mentor dedicated to your growth and success and will collaborate closely with technical and non-technical counterparts to understand our customers' problems and build products that tackle them.
SWE Principles
- Ownership: See projects through from beginning to end in spite of obstacles.
- Collaboration: Work internally with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Product Reliability Engineers. Partner with business development teams (Forward Deployed Engineers, Deployment Strategists) to understand and solve customer problems.
- Trust: Handle time and priorities effectively, with space to think independently while feeling supported.
