Electrical Engineer
Strativ Group
About the Role
Strativ Group is seeking a hands-on Robotics Electrical Engineer to help design, develop, and deploy electrical systems for its next generation of robotic platforms. This role offers ownership of electrical hardware, working across PCB design, power electronics, motor control, sensors, and embedded systems. You will collaborate with mechanical, software, and robotics engineers, taking hardware from concept through integration, testing, and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical architectures for robotic and electromechanical systems.
- Own schematic capture, PCB design, board bring-up, debugging, and validation.
- Develop and integrate power distribution systems, DC/DC converters, battery systems, and associated protection circuitry.
- Design and integrate motor-drive electronics, actuators, and motion-control hardware.
- Interface sensors, embedded controllers, computing platforms, and communication systems.
- Develop wiring harnesses, connectors, and electrical interfaces for robust system integration.
- Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and software engineers to deliver fully integrated robotic platforms.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and electromechanical issues through hands-on laboratory and field testing.
- Support design for manufacturability, reliability, and production readiness.
- Participate in hardware integration, validation, and deployment activities.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Strong hands-on experience designing and developing electrical hardware.
- Experience with schematic capture, PCB design, hardware bring-up, and debugging.
- Solid understanding of power electronics, power distribution, and electrical protection.
- Experience integrating motors, actuators, sensors, and embedded electronic systems.
- Comfortable working with oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and other laboratory test equipment.
- Experience taking hardware through multiple stages of the product development lifecycle.
- Ability to work independently, solve complex technical problems, and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing robotics, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, or other complex electromechanical systems.
- Experience with BLDC motors, motor drives, and control electronics.
- Knowledge of battery management systems (BMS), DC/DC converters, and battery-powered architectures.
- Experience with embedded communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, I2C, or Ethernet.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC considerations, signal integrity, and electrical reliability.
- Experience designing hardware for demanding industrial or outdoor environments.
- Exposure to rapid prototyping, low-volume manufacturing, and scaling hardware into production.
- Experience working in an early-stage or rapidly growing engineering organization.
