About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site API Programmer role based in Chennai. The API Programmer will design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable APIs that integrate internal systems and external platforms supporting SISCOL’s structural steel solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Write clean and efficient backend code.
- Implement object-oriented designs.
- Troubleshoot integration issues.
- Optimize performance and reliability of services.
- Collaborate with software development, engineering, and operations teams to define requirements.
- Document APIs.
- Ensure robust testing and version control.
- Support ongoing improvements.
- Monitor production APIs.
- Contribute to best practices and technical standards.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and API integration, including RESTful services and microservices architectures.
- Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming using modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar).
- Solid understanding and practical use of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) for designing modular, maintainable code.
- Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL), version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial.
- Familiarity with security best practices, API documentation tools, and performance monitoring will be an advantage.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
