Retail Store Management Trainee

About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious Store Management Trainee to join our team! This role offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills, gain hands-on management experience, and build a career in retail operations. As a Store Management Trainee, you will work alongside store leadership to learn day-to-day business operations and develop the skills needed to lead a successful team. You will gain experience in customer service, employee development, inventory management, store operations, and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service and help create a customer-focused environment.
• Learn and support all aspects of daily store operations.
• Assist with coaching, training, and developing team members.
• Support recruiting and talent development efforts.
• Open and close the store while following asset protection and cash handling procedures.
• Assist with inventory management, merchandising, and store presentation.
• Help drive store performance by supporting sales, loan, and profitability goals.
• Learn how to analyze business results and support operational decision-making.
• Monitor loan and buying transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Build product knowledge across a wide variety of merchandise categories.
• Complete management training and development assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Previous leadership, key-holder, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks.
• Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Comfortable working with a variety of merchandise (firearms in FFL locations; certification provided).
• Strong customer service skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Experience with retail point-of-sale systems is a plus.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to assist customers or retrieve merchandise from exterior areas.

Commission Information

• Store Management Trainees can earn 2-8% commission based on individual performance.
• May be eligible for additional bonus opportunities based on overall store performance.
