About the Role
HDR is seeking an Entry-Level Construction Inspector to join its North Carolina Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team. This role will perform construction engineering and inspection duties on highway and bridge construction projects, utilizing NCDOT policies and procedures. The work includes materials testing, construction observation, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform construction engineering and inspection duties on highway and bridge construction projects.
- Utilize NCDOT policies and procedures.
- Conduct materials testing.
- Perform construction observation.
- Prepare reports.
- Be trained to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Identify discrepancies or conflicts within construction documents.
- Enforce contract documents.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections
- Must be licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with applicable state law
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- NCDOT experience (Preferred)
- Tech school degree (Preferred)
- Local candidates are preferred.
- Must successfully pass drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing.
