About the Department

The Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering (UNC/NCSU) focuses on applying science, engineering, mathematical analysis, and computer techniques to biomedical problems. Faculty, students, and staff conduct research and foster entrepreneurship to advance biomedical engineering knowledge, aiming to improve healthcare for North Carolina, the nation, and the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules for research participants, clinicians, researchers, and facilities.
• Arrange research activities via email and phone communication.
• Recruit potential participants through local clinics, hospitals, and on- and off-campus outreach activities.
• Conduct initial participant screening.
• Explain established research procedures to participants.
• Support research procedures and participant testing in accordance with established protocols, ethical requirements, and department policies.
• Maintain accurate research data and records.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Valid NC Driver's License required.
• Proficiency using electronic databases to maintain research data, participant records, or study information.
• Ability to convey information clearly and professionally through written and verbal communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with individuals and teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background supporting human subjects or clinical research activities.
• Familiarity with participant recruitment, screening, or research data collection.

Work Schedule

• Core Business Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Schedule may vary based on departmental needs.

Salary

• Anticipated Hiring Range: $46,000–$47,000
