Residential Care Associate I

About the Role

The Residential Care Associate I will provide caring companionship and assistance with daily tasks to clients at Aspen Hill RTF in Portland, Oregon. This role provides personal care services and support to help individuals develop daily living skills and independent activities of daily living to increase or maintain their level of functioning. This position falls under the AFSCME bargaining unit, with wages, benefits, and working conditions set in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services and support to clients.
• Assist with daily living skills and independent activities of daily living.
• Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing, encouraging client participation.
• Pass medications and perform delegated medical care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, as prescribed by the client’s primary care provider.
• Transport clients to and from the program as necessary for engagement and treatment services.
• Maintain compliance with established productivity standards for documentation of services.

Training Program

• Earn CEUs towards applicable mental health certifications.
• Attend required, paid training.
• Receive qualified clinical supervision.
• Gain on-the-job experience.
• Accelerated training path towards QMHA certification.

Technology Requirement

• Employees are required to maintain access to a compatible smartphone capable of supporting the organization’s approved multi-factor authentication (MFA) application as a condition of employment.

Work Schedule

• Sunday through Thursday, 2:00pm – 10:30pm (Full-Time Swing)

Compensation

• $21.42 - $22.07 per hour DOE/Credentials.
• NOC Differential: An additional $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 8:30 AM, provided that at least 2.5 hours of your shift occur within this designated period.
• Secure Program Differential: An additional $2.00 per hour for all hours worked in an eligible CCS secure program.
• Bilingual Differential: An additional 5% pay differential for employees who meet the qualifications of the CCS Language/Bilingual Program.

About the Program

• Aspen Hill RTF is a non-secure, 8-bed Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) in Portland, Oregon.
• Offers residential, community-based mental health treatment.
• Programming tailored to meet resident needs, including personal care, medication management and administration, individual and group therapy, skills training, case management, nursing consultation, and assistance with community activities.
• ColumbiaCare Services is a qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred.
• Dedication to the wellbeing of each resident and helping them complete their activities of daily living (ADL’s) and independent activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Driving is an essential function of this position.
• Must provide a valid driver's license from their state of residence or obtain and submit one within 30 days of hire.
• Must maintain a safe driving record.
• Must have the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.
• Must be 18 or older at the time of hire.

Physical Demands

• Ability to frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, climb stairs.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
• May require ability to occasionally use ladders, squat/kneel, and perform other physical tasks as applicable.
• Must successfully complete crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, which require performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques and may require an individual to lift and transfer clients.
